Product Information

  • What are spore syringes and how do I use them?
Spore syringes are tools used for mushroom cultivation. They contain millions of mushroom spores suspended in sterile water, making it easy to inoculate your substrate. To use, inject the spore solution into your chosen substrate in a sterile environment to prevent contamination. Our syringes are primarily intended for use with gourmet mushrooms. If you’re new to mushroom cultivation, we recommend starting with one of our all-in-one grow kits for a hassle-free experience.

  • What’s the difference between spore syringes and liquid culture?
Spore syringes contain mushroom spores, which require time to germinate after being injected into a substrate. Liquid culture, on the other hand, contains live mycelium that has already started to grow. This means liquid culture can colonize a substrate more quickly than spore syringes. We offer both options—choose spore syringes for a more traditional cultivation experience or opt for liquid culture if you want faster results.

  • What substrates do you offer, and how do I choose the right one?
We offer a variety of substrates to suit different types of mushrooms:

    • Coco Coir & Vermiculite: A balanced substrate that retains moisture and provides nutrients. Ideal for most gourmet mushrooms.

    • Straw-Based Substrate: Excellent for growing larger or outdoor mushrooms like oyster mushrooms.

    • Grain Spawn Bags: Best for the initial inoculation process. After inoculation, mix it with a bulk substrate for best results.

    • Mushroom Compost: A nutrient-rich option perfect for gourmet mushrooms like shiitake or portobello.

    • Gypsum Additive: Used as an enhancer to boost the growth of the mycelium. Our all-in-one grow bags are an excellent option for beginners, as they contain the right blend of substrates and are ready for inoculation.
