Scientific Name: Psilocybe cubensis
Origin: Discovered in 2002 in the Transkei region of South Africa, this strain is notable for being the first African Psilocybe cubensis variety to enter wide circulation.
Appearance: African Transkei mushrooms are characterized by medium-sized fruiting bodies with broad, wavy caps ranging from white to light brown, often with a golden or caramel hue. The stems are slender and sturdy, sometimes exhibiting blue bruising when handled, indicating high psilocybin content.
Potency: Known for their moderate to high potency, African Transkei mushrooms produce both closed-eye and open-eye visuals, including ‘dancing lights’ and geometric shapes. Higher doses can have a profound effect on physical ability and may cause periods of dissociation.
Popularity: Favored among cultivators and psychonauts for its unique origin, distinct appearance, and potent effects, making it a popular choice for both beginners and experienced enthusiasts.
Intended Use: Ideal for microscopy, research, and educational purposes.
